WhatsApp extends ‘controversial’ updated privacy policy deadline

WhatsApp after announcing on Friday 15th January 2021 to delete the account of users who do not agree to its updated privacy policy by February 8 this year has said it will not delete any account base on the new policy.
The social media giant in a communique sighted by TheGhanaTech.com said “No one will have their account suspended or deleted on February 8”.
“We’ll then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before new business options are available on May 15”, it added.
According to the Facebook-owned platform, it will make sure users have ample time to review and understand the new ‘controversial’ terms.
