NCA to extend the deadline of re-registration of SIM card

The National Communications Authority (NCA) in a recent interview sighted by TheGhanaTech made a statement that the deadline for the ongoing re-registration of SIM cards in the country might be extended if necessary.
According to the National Communications Authority (NCA), closing the ongoing re-registration of SIM cards on the 31st of March might be extended because almost half of the people in the country have not fully completed their SIM card re-registration.
The Director of Consumer and Corporate Affairs of NCA, Mrs Nana Defie Badu in an interview sighted by TheGhanaTech made a statement that the NCA has been monitoring the ongoing re-registration of SIM cards in the country but it seems the number of people who have fully completed the re-registration is few.
In a post sighted by TheGhanaTech, the National SIM card registration statistics tell us that, the Number of SIM cards linked to Ghana cards (number of subscribers who have completed *404#) is even more than the number of completed SIM card registration (number subscribers who have fully completed the SIM re-registration)
Most people in the country are pleading with the NCA, Ministry of Communications, and the Government of Ghana to extend the deadline for the re-registration of SIM cards. In an interview made by the TheGhanaTech team, the reason why most people are not able to re-register their SIM is that anytime they go to the nearest mobile service provider office, they always join a long queue for the registration.
Another reason why most of the people haven’t completed their SIM card registration is that there are not enough authorised agents for the registration and moreover some of them has taken the chance of collecting money from the subscribers before they complete the registration.
The NCA and Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation will not be happy if most people’s SIM gets disconnected due to late registration (Not registering). Let us all try to finish up the registration in due time.
