Ghana’s Digital address system to be merged onto Google Maps

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in a recent speech sighted by TheGhanaTech.com, said that the government has gone to an agreement with Google to integrate Ghana’s digital address (GhanaPostGPS) onto Google maps system.
According to the vice president, the Government of the Republic of Ghana has been discussing with Google for so many months about merging the digital address onto the Google maps system. This implementation will help Ghanaians to locate their destination on Google maps without any stress.
This integration will also help a lot of door-to-door delivery services to locate their customer’s digital addresses on Google maps without any hassle or further directions. No more the “yellow house”, the “taxi station”, and ” that big tree at the junction”, as reference points for giving out locations.
The merging of Ghana’s digital address (GhanaPostGPS) onto the Google maps system will also help some services like Bolt ride, Uber ride, Glovo and etc to easily trace and locate a passenger’s destination. These services use the Google maps system to operate and this integration will be a big advantage for them to locate and deliver a parcel to its destination.
In an interview made by TheGhanaTech.com, this process will also serve as an emergency platform whereby some services like police, fire service and the ambulance can easily trace and locate an address when there’s a reported issue.
Individuals can also use their digital addresses to fill out a form that requires their location address. Therefore, TheGhanaTech will encourage every Ghanaian and business located in the country to generate its digital address from the GhanaPostGPS app.
This will benefit you and me when the integration of the digital address onto the Google maps system is completely successful. It will be easy for us to trace and locate anything that will require a digital address.
