Promotion and Protecting Internet Freedom

Promotion and protecting Internet freedom in Ghana is one of the major plans the National Cyber Security Authority is working on serious to achieve in the country.
The Minister of Communication and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has indicated that plans were advanced to ensure the operationalisation of the National Cyber Security Authority by the end of 2021. The Minister addressed this statement at the Freedom Online Coalition Event on “Digital Inclusion” on the 18th May 2021 in Accra.

She further expressed the commitment of the Government of Ghana to ensure that cybersecurity in Ghana meet international best practices and protects the people’s digital right. She added that with the passion of the cybersecurity Act 2020 (Act 1038), the government was determined to ensure appropriate cyberspace regulation and protect critical national information infrastructure.
