How to upload high-quality photos and videos on Instagram

If you’re an Instagram user, you know that the platform is about sharing high-quality photos and videos. However, creating engaging posts on Instagram can be tough if your uploads end up looking mediocre. That happens if you do not turn on high-quality uploads in the Instagram app.
While you may not see a drastic improvement in the quality of your photo uploads after enabling the Upload at the highest quality option, it can still be quite helpful in improving the quality of your video posts. But before we enable this option, let’s look at why your Instagram posts look blurry.
Instagram for Android and iOS offers you the option to upload your photos and videos at the highest quality possible. While the Instagram app appears similar on these mobile platforms, there’s a slight change where the High-Quality uploads option is located.
How to upload high-quality photos and videos on Instagram for Android
- Open the app drawer to search and launch the Instagram app on your Android phone.
- Tap on the profile icon in the bottom-right corner to go to your profile.
- Tap the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner to open the menu.
- Tap on the Settings option from the menu that pops up.
- Under Settings, tap on the Account option.
- On the Account page, tap the ‘Cellular data use’ option.
- Turn on the toggle next to the ‘Upload at highest quality’ option.
How to upload high-quality photos and videos on Instagram for iPhone
- Launch the Instagram app on your iPhone.
- Tap on your profile picture icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner.
- Tap on the Settings from the menu that pops up.
- Under Settings, tap on the Account option.
- On the Account page, tap Data Usage.
- Turn on the toggle next to ‘Upload at the highest quality.’
