How to turn off comments on your Facebook post

Facebook is built around sharing moments from your life and letting others comment on them. But if you’ve got a lot of friends or followers, those comments can become overwhelming.
That’s why Facebook lets you customize who can comment on your posts, and even lets you turn off comments altogether.
You can turn off comments using both the Facebook website and mobile app. Just note that to change who can comment on a post, that post’s visibility needs to be “Public.” If it’s set to “Private” or “Friends,” you can’t turn off comments.
How to turn off comments on your Facebook post
- Open Facebook and head to the post that you want to turn comments off for
- Click or tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the post
- Select Who can comment on this post? option
- You’ll have a few options to choose from. To turn off comments, select the Profiles and Pages you mention
Following these steps will make it so no one can comment unless you’ve directly @ mentioned them in the post. if you haven’t mentioned anyone, no one can comment. This does mean though that if you have mentioned someone, they’ll still be able to comment. There isn’t any way to stop them from commenting without editing the post or removing it.
Also, remember that this won’t delete any comments. All the existing comments will stay, and anyone viewing the post can still read them. You’ll have to delete the comments individually if you want to hide them.
