How to re-register your SIM card with Ghana Card using Shortcode

The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in a previous press announced to the public that, re-registration of the SIM Card with Ghana Card will take off on the 1st October 2021.
In this post, TheGhanaTech.com will show you the steps to re-register your SIM Card with the Ghana Card by using a shortcode. The National Identity Card (Ghana Card) is going to serve as the pillar of security in the process of re-registration of your SIM card. According to the Minister, this process will reduce and eliminate fraudsters and criminal activities in the country.
The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation also said that apart from the shortcode, there is also going to be an App that will speed up the process of re-registration for all existing subscribers. The SIM registration process will be conducted for a period of six (6) months. TheGhanaTech.com is urging everyone to participate in this exercise.

“The process will also enhance the economic growth as more confidence is built in the telecommunications sector and people utilize secure devices to access the E-Government services and other private mobile-based digital solutions”, Mrs Ursula added.
How to re-register your SIM Card with Ghana Card via USSD
Kindly follow the steps to re-register your SIM Card with Ghana Card using USSD
- On your phone, dail *404#
- Select option 1 (Register)
- Enter your Ghana Card PIN
- Now Confirm Ghana Card PIN
- Enter your Surname on the Ghana Card
- Enter your First name(s) on the Ghana Card
- Enter your Date of Birth in this format (DDMMYYYY)
- Enter your sex ( Male or Female)
- Now confirm your details
- Submits details provided after confirmation
If the confirmation you submitted is successful, you will get a confirmation message with a unique code, If confirmation is unsuccessful due to wrong details, security questions will be provided to answer with 3 attempts, If an unsuccessful message pops up due to failure verification at the NIA, you will be informed to contact the National Identification Authority.
NOTE: After the process is been done, you will need to visit your service provider with your Ghana Card, Unique Code that was sent to you, and Digital Address to complete the process.
